2003

The Journey Begins

Townie Meeting

In 2003, Dr. Tarun Agarwal and Dr. Sameer Puri founded the Townie Meeting for the DentalTown community.  The Townie Meeting was the beginning of a love for providing continuing education and helping to change dentists lives by focusing on education, entertainment, and camaraderie.  While no longer leading Townie Meeting (since 2012), these principles still guide T- Bone today at 3D Dentists.

The core foundation of diverse clinical procedures and common sense business principles while having fun is the hallmark that 3D Dentists is known for.

What started out as just sharing clinical cases on DentalTown in the early days, turned into a passion for sharing clinical and business principles to dentists all over the world.

The seeds were planted for developing hands-on educational events and a dream for a dedicated training center – with a commitment to maintaining a full time dental practice.

Designed to create an intimate learning environment that promotes interaction, the 3D Dentists facility came to life on the second floor of Dr. Agarwal’s dental practice.

Dr. Agarwal was adamant that the best dental education occurs in a dedicated space that is connected to a working dental practice.  This allows attendees the opportunity to see the principles in action and interact with team members who are implementing the concepts on a daily basis.

Dr. Erin ElliottDental Sleep
Medicine

Dr. Erin Elliott grew up in Southern California.  After playing college soccer at Houghton College, Dr. Elliott graduated from Creighton University Dental School in 2003.  She immediately moved to northern Idaho, joined a practice as an associate and later became an owner partner.

Dr. Elliott is a national speaker and educator on the very important topic of sleep apnea and has been published in many dental journals.  She loves to help general dentists extend this life-saving service to their patients.  She is active in organized dentistry and is the past president and diplomate of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy.

The biggest lesson I have learning in growing my business is that life is not all about you.  By investing time, money and energy into your team, your business can grow.  Our dental practices are so much more about being a good technical dentist but about systems, education and most importantly, communication.

When I am not working you’ll find me spending time with family of 3 boys (my husband Tom included!), playing soccer, golfing, traveling, spending time at the lake, and reading.

I know I am biased but my excitement about teaching with 3D Dentists team cannot be contained.  As practicing general dentists we can take the things we have learned and break it down into a systematic, understandable, implementable workflow.  Always based on science we can help fast forward the mistake we’ve made along the way and empower the team to get excited and passionate about providing the best care to the most important thing in the practice … your patients.  We also have an experience like no other in the interactive community we provide during and after the courses.

Dr. Sully Sullivan
Millennial Dentist

Graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2015. Dr. Sullivan realized oral healthcare is a constantly changing discipline, so he prioritizes continuing education courses, conference, and lectures. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Based on his desire to help younger dentists accelerate their growth he founded the Millennial Dentist Podcast and the Millenial Dentist Mastermind.

The best advice I’ve ever received related to growing my practice is keep investing in my education and my practice. It’s easy to get comfortable and complacent in dentistry. However, if you’re not moving forward you’re really moving backward and I have found that our practice flourishes when we keep raising the bar of the way we do dentistry and the quality at which we do it.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me podcasting and speaking! I love the community we have in dentistry and I love traveling and meeting new people. It makes me eager to get back Monday to implement things I have heard other people do well. When I am not doing that my wife and I love to travel, but our recent addition of our first baby boy has me thinking we will be spending a lot more time at home enjoying him grow up.

The most valuable benefit of attending 3D Workshops is going home with a strategy to actually implement what you have learned. There is so much good CE out there but I think what makes 3D Workshops great is that they’re built for everyday practices. You leave the courses confident with an action plan to implement what it is you have actually learned whether its sleep, implants, sedation, etc. We have all been there Monday morning after a course and feeling stuck in how to get going but you won’t have that problem after one of these courses.

Dr. John Pasicznyk
Digital Implants

Dr. John was born and raised in Aurora, Ohio outside of Cleveland.  He attended undergrad at Butler University, majoring in chemistry and playing for the football team, and dental school at Indiana University School of Dentistry.  After graduation, Dr. John worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Indianapolis.  Dr. Pasicznyk travels the world training dentists on the very same technology that he uses in his office.  He is a volunteer at the Trinity Free Clinic in Carmel and a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, Indianapolis District Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentists. He also continues to be an active member of the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity.  Dr. John and his wife, Meghan, live in the Meridian Kessler neighborhood with their son, Roman, and German Shorthaired Pointer, Greta.  In his free time, he enjoys golf, skeet shooting and cheering for the Bulldogs.

Mr. Hootan Shahidi
Medical Billing

Founder and Managing Partner of Cross Over Dental Enterprises LLC (CODE). CODE is a full-service medical billing company for dentists and dental specialists. CODE started in April of 2013 to provide an untapped billing solution, workflow, and protocol to existing dental and dental specialty practices. In 5 years, we now have over 2000 clients in 47 states. Our company efforts have provided millions of dollars in newly generated revenue for these practices. Hootan Shahidi was an office manager and a dental consultant in Los Angeles County for over 10 years before starting CODE.

The best advice I’ve ever received related to growing my business
is
 to not get fancy or try to add too many services and to have the
discipline to stay focused on what you are best at.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me enjoying the outdoors of
Georgia, playing with my daughter, or having a fantastic dinner with
my wife, I am a bit of a foodie.

The most valuable benefit of attending 3D Workshops is being
able to add a service to your practice that does not require you to get more new patients.

Dr. Brian McGue
Oral Sedation

Dr. Brian McGue is a full time practicing general dentist with a private practice in Chesterton, IN. His practice has a comprehensive focus offering a variety of restorative and surgical treatments with an emphasis on using oral conscious sedation for patient comfort. He lectures on the topic of oral sedation and runs hands-on workshops for dentists interested in incorporating oral sedation into their practices. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the International Anesthesia Research Society.

The best advice I’ve ever received related to growing my business  Two phrases:

1) “Never stop moving forward”. Simply stated: always be looking to expand your knowledge, skills, equipment, infrastructure, team abilities, office presence etc.. Never get too comfortable where you currently are with your business.

2) “Those who never try never fail. Those who never fail never succeed.” Don’t be afraid to fail because you learn so much more from failure than from success.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me…. at the beach. I’m fortunate to live and practice in an area known as the Indiana Dunes National Park. When I’m not at work my wife and I are either hiking or (in the winter) cross-country skiing in the dunes, swimming in Lake Michigan or sitting on the beach reading books.

The most valuable benefit of attending 3D Workshops is…. all the courses at 3-D are geared so when a person returns to their office on Monday morning they have new skills and a detailed plan to implement those skills into their office. We truly want you to succeed and utilize what you’ve learned immediately.
